To become an AVPA Facilitator:
Begin by completing the Basic AVP Workshop. If this
is an experience you want to repeat and you would like to become an AVPA Facilitator, do at least one Advanced AVP Workshop, preferably 2 or more. Talk
with the Team Leader(s) and the Regional Coordinator about participating in the
Training for Facilitators Workshop (T4F).

This workshop focuses on developing team building, leadership methods, and group process skills. Participants will work in small groups, actually functioning as facilitators. They will receive guidance and practice in facilitating parts of a Basic Workshop: Team Building & Team Contracts/Creating Agendas/Running Exercises /Sharing Transforming Power Talks/Light & Livelies, & may include Role Plays.

Completion of at least one Treaty of Waitangi or Bi-cultural Partnership workshop
Completion of at least one Peer Mentor Training
Member of an AVP Peer Mentoring Group that meets regularly
This workshop focuses on further development of team building, coaching of facilitators – especially apprentices, maintaining an overview of workshop processes & dynamics, team leader responsibilities, mentoring processes, addressing conflict during a workshop – within the team or among participants.
Team Leader Apprenticeship►
Receive mentoring from an experienced AVPA Team Leader
Apprentice as a Team Leader►
with at least 3 Team Leader Coaches
on at least 3 workshops
over a minimum period of six months
and develop along the guidelines of the AVPA Apprentice Team Leader Competencies
Nomination by Regional Committee, Mentor Team Leader and Team Leader Coaches as AVPA Approved Team Leader
